St. James Academy, located in Lenexa, Kansas, is the newest Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Opened in 2005 with 120 students, we have grown to 420 with an expected enrollment of 610 students in 2008-09. We expect to add teachers for almost all academic areas as well as a number of support staff and coaches.
The Mission of St. James Academy is to pass on the Catholic faith from this generation to the next, while holding the highest standards of educating students in mind, body and spirit. The full infusion of the Catholic faith in every lesson, interaction and relationship is central to fulfilling this mission. Additionally, we utilize a 1-to-1 technology program that puts a laptop computer in the hands of every student and staff member with the expectation that it be utilized to extend and demonstrate student learning.

- Licensed teachers who are experts at their field and passionate about sharing that knowledge with students.
- Educators whose classrooms are ones of engagement and active learning.
- Adults who can bring love of their faith into each lesson.
- People who understand that beginning a new school is a challenging, yet rewarding, task and who are committed to the task.
- Teachers who are willing to continue their own learning and push themselves to utilizing data to make academic decisions.
- Teachers willing to utilize technology in new and creative ways.

The Application Process
- Complete the online application found at this website.
- Complete the online application with the Archdiocesan Education Office at www.archkckcs.org only if you are applying for a teaching position and don’t currently work in our Archdiocese.
- Submit a cover letter and resume via e-mail to Mr. Andy Tylicki
- Submit 3 letters of recommendation to Mr. Andy Tylicki
- Candidates we wish to interview will be contacted only after all steps of the above process have been completed.
- In compliance with Archdiocesan policy, candidates who currently teach in an Archdiocesan school must notify their current principal of their intent to interview before an interview can take place.
