10 Things To Keep In Mind When Selecting Classes

For The 2012-13 School Year

1) Know who your student's counselor is. Each counselor is assigned to two communities. Knowing your student's community will help you identify your student's counselor.

Terry Kopp                St. Benedict  and Padre Pio
Kellie Maguire          St. Catherine and St. Peter
Matt Baysinger         St. Gregory and St. Gianna Molla

2) Refer to page 4 in the St. James Academy Course Catalog for graduation requirements. Pages 23 and 28 have detailed flowcharts for the Math and Science Departments.

3) Students should be enrolled in no more than 3 honors course unless they have been advised by their counselor and teachers.

4) Remember to check prerequisites when enrolling.

5) Trust recommendations made by teachers. If you have questions or concerns, contact them directly.

6) If your student is waiving a 1/2 PE credit because they are involved in a sport they must fill out the correct paperwork from the Counseling Department.

7) Students wanting to take 4 years of Performing Arts should take Technology and PE during the summer months.

8) Students must have at least a 1/2 credit of Public Speaking to graduate.

9) 30 hours of CSP and passing your current Theology class is required in order to progress to the next grade level.

10) Registration fees must be paid to the business office before selections can be made.
