SJA Lay Thunder Soccer Community: We played Gardner Edgerton in the regional finals at Gardner Edgerton and won 4-0. Their coach is a great guy who was coaching his last game. It is hard to see good mentors leave the game, but his assistant seems poised to do a great job as well. They had a nice team with some solid, mostly younger talent. I thought their keeper did an outstanding job. We controlled the tempo and dominated the entire game, putting pressure on their goal from the beginning. We had four nice goals (Nia 2, Bridget and Madelyn). We once again created numerous goal scoring chances, and should have tacked on a few more, but hopefully are saving those for our next round, quarterfinal match at Topeka Seamon 6pm Tuesday night...winner goes to state final four!
