St. James Academy Focus on Technology

St. James Academy will provide one-to-one technology with laptops in the hands of each staff member and student.

Technology will be a part of everyday education of our students:

• Hire teachers who are adept at the latest in technology
• Provide laptops to every staff member and student
• Provide full access to students, staff and parents to monitor progress and enhance learning

Technology will be a means of improving communication:

• Provide a means of communication between all members of the school community
• Provide continual updates on grades, attendance, concerns, etc. to families
• Assist students in collaborating with others with the use of technology

Technology will be focused on assisting the various teaching and learning styles of our school community:

• Flexible learning spaces call for flexible technology
• Move away from textbooks driving the curriculum to teachers use technology and additional resources to assess mastery of expected outcomes

Technology will focus on the skills needed by our graduates in the future:

• Community partnerships will be utilized to assess what skills are needed in the workforce
• University partnerships will be utilized to assess college entry skills necessary for success after graduation
