All SJA Moms are Members!
Moms’ Club is up and running for the 2011-12 school year! Every mom is automatically enrolled as a member of Moms’ Club, so you will be receiving e-mails throughout the school year to keep you updated on our events. Here are some of our exciting initiatives so far:
Fall Social – We will be hosting a social event for all SJA moms in the Media Center from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, October 25th. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we will focus on women’s health. Ellen Feiden, SJA parent and registered dietician, will be on hand to discuss healthy eating and lifestyle. We will have drinks and healthy appetizers while we make new friends and mingle with familiar faces! Grab a friend and be sure to join us for this fun event!
SJA Mom t-shirts – The Moms’ Club t-shirts that we sold last year are back by popular demand! Each shirt has a little bling added to the traditional St. James logo and the word Mom is included in the design. Click on the following link to order a t-shirt. All orders should be turned into the office by Friday, October 28. Please make checks payable to First Edition, and allow 2 weeks for delivery to your student.
Auction gift from Moms’ Club - It has been our tradition to donate to the auction one meal each month for a year to the highest bidder at the St. James auction. Many of you have already signed up to prepare a meal, but we have a few slots left to fill. If you’re willing to prepare one meal, please e-mail Cathy Grosdidier at cgrosdidier@everestkc.net.
Flowers for Homecoming – We are happy to announce that we will purchase our homecoming flowers at a reduced price again this year from Michaels Heritage Florist in Kansas City, Kansas. Please consider ordering your son or daughter’s homecoming corsage or boutonnière from Michael’s at (913) 342-1573. Payment can be made over the phone and the flowers will be available for pick-up at St. James by 12:30 pm on Friday, October 7th. Be sure to let them know this is a St. James order so they will include it with SJA’s larger order.
After Prom Party – Moms’ Club may consider an After Prom event. We have two moms who have stepped up to chair this event, but are looking for a few more to help plan the party. If you would like to help, please contact Trudy Hinderliter at thinderliter@kc.rr.com or Nora Tripp at mntripp@everestkc.net.
Facebook and SJA Website – Be sure to join our group on facebook at St. James Academy Moms’ Club. It’s a great place for checking out the latest activities and for hearing from other SJA moms. On the St. James website, there is also a link to Moms’ Club by clicking on the Parent tab and going to Moms’ Club under Parent Links.
