Coach Mike Medina
Coach Medina started his wrestling coaching career in 2001 as an assistant at Blue Valley North High School. He also coached with the East Kansas Freestyle club, the Aquinas Kids Club, Matside Academy and the Kansas City Wrestling Club. He wrestled at the University of Northern Iowa. He was named the 1998 Kansas High School Wrestler of the Year. Mr. Medina is also the Director of Facilities at St. James Academy.

Congrats to three St. James Academy Seniors, Ryne Cokely, Taylor Moeder and Zach Pollom for reaching the Kansas 4A State Wrestling Finals. Cokely brought home his 4th straight state title (one of just 26 other Kansas wrestlers to ever achieve this feat); Moeder won his third straight championship; and Zach Pollom made his first appearance in the state finals to win second. Congratulations to Coach Medina, his staff and the entire team who finished fourth in the team standings. Good luck to Taylor Moeder and Ryne Cokely who will represent Kansas in the annual Missouri-Kansas duel meet on March 8 at KCK Community College
